Higher alcohol taxes will improve society

I read with interest and appreciation the recent coverage of the ongoing work to raise our state’s alcohol tax (“New attempts to raise New Mexico’s alcohol tax,” Oct. 23).

As a physician with public health training, I am hopeful that we can move forward with the established best practices from other states and countries as we consider this work.
